| Environmental Writing and Marketing Strategy Intern
BlueMap is a start-up environmental consulting and eco-software company located in San
Francisco. We specialize in creating innovative environmental and social impact strategies for
our clients. However, of equal importance, we understand the business case for sustainability. |
 |
|
As our main deliverable, BlueMap works with clients to lower their environmental impact while saving them money. Our interns research various consumer products and
environmental solutions to assess the environmental impact and cost savings for our clients.
BlueMap uses this data to help our clients understand how their facilities, offices, and
operations impact our planet, along with how they can be more eco-friendly and lower costs.
We are seeking a team of bright, ambitious, eco-conscious students to help us drive the
research, client support, and public relations tactics.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Although this is a unpaid internship, the opportunity for students is extremely rewarding. By
joining the BlueMap team, you will be directly involved in not only the actual research but also
with outlining our overall business strategy. You will be asked to write articles for online
publication, current and prospective clients, and various media outlets. We are looking for a
creative thinker whose writing skills can range from writing eco-friendly product reviews to ecobusiness
case studies, to eco-topic analysis. As a start-up company, we encourage innovative
strategies and plan to really exercise your communications skills and marketing interests!
QUALIFICATIONS
Our ideal intern would be a full or part-time college or graduate student, with an interest in
business communications, marketing, and the environment. We are breaking new ground with
this research, so there is no one set of experiences that we demand to see in a candidate. This
position will require high quality of writing and familiarity with public relations; but a team
player with positive attitude, intelligence, creativity, and a willingness to learn and grow is what
is most important. We will gladly teach you the rest!
WORK SCHEDULE
When working with students, we understand school comes first. We are willing to work around
your schedule. We'd like someone that is able to make a rough commitment of at least 2 days
per week in our office for 3-5 hours per day. Our office is laid back and in the Portrero Hill area;
at 18th and Alabama St., a few blocks from the 16th and Mission BART station.
TO APPLY: Please send us your resume, a brief cover letter explaining why this internship interests you, and
two writing samples. Direct responses to info[at]bluemapinc.com. |
